The details of downloading depend on which Web browser
you use (Netscape Navigator, Mosaic, Internet Explorer, etc.), but generally:
- Click on the link.
- Your browser may ask if you want to save the file to disk. If so, agree.
- Or your browser may download the file without prompting, and place
it in the directory indicated by its Options or Preferences.
- Note the directory to which the file is saved. (It's best to choose
an empty temporary directory. If you don't have one, create one before
downloading.)
The file you downloaded has been compressed. To expand it and begin
the installation:
- In Windows 3.1, choose the Run command from the File menu of your Program
Manager or File Manager. In Windows 95 or NT 4.0, choose the Run command
from the Start menu.
- Use the Browse button to find the file you have just downloaded, and
double click its name.
- The file will expand into several files. If you would like detailed
help before you install, find the file with the .txt extension (e.g.,
body.txt, 12tales.txt, etc.) and double click it.
- To start the installation, double click the file called install.exe
or, in some programs, setup.exe.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
